Your Brand & The Law of Attraction

Fact: The energy you put outward is precisely what you are going to get back.

Today was a perfect illustration of the power of the Law of Attraction. I was feeling especially charged up after Sunday's Own Your Happy soul workshop and was experiencing a bit of a vulnerability hangover as I processed the learning moments and contemplated what lies ahead for OYH. I have a busy week on the docket and one of the upcoming events is my professional headshot photo shoot. Of course, being a Branding expert, I need to make sure that what I am wearing in this shoot is representative of my Brand and me and, naturally, I was putting a ton of pressure on myself to figure it out #rightthisminute.

I left the house feeling anxious about a myriad of things and was feeling WAY off my game. And naturally, as a result, everywhere I went I was hitting a road block. The coffee shop I settled in to do my work - no wifi. My (only) pen to write this blog with - dead. The sandwich I ordered - "sorry, we're out," and when I found, THE perfect shoes, clearly, not available in my size.

So, while nothing that happened was earth-shattering or especially catastrophic, these things don't usually happen to me....and if/when they do, I barely notice.  Why, do you ask?  It's because I am a firm believer that our mindset determines our success....ALWAYS. From connecting with awesome clients at the right time to finding a parking spot in a crowded lot, I believe that the law of attraction brings wonder to my life openly and regularly. The reciprocal state of gratitude that I live in, as well as the belief that all is possible if I remain open to it brings good in to my life.

Shortly after penning this blog in the coffee shop, I felt like I was totally re-centered and ready to go about my day in an entirely different way.

I set my intention on hitting 2 more stores before heading home and while driving there, I envisioned the perfect dress for my shoot. I wasn't entirely sure what it would look like; but, I knew it would be bold and bright and totally me. Sure enough, I parked in downtown Portsmouth and headed straight to one of my favorite boutiques. I walked in the door and went straight for the clearance rack, and there she was...The Dress!

Bright blue WITH POCKETS!!

...And she's BACK folks!!!

So, what does this have to do with you and your Brand, you ask?

Sometimes we get distracted and we lose sight of all of the good going on around us. When we enter in to the haze, it's important to take a moment to pause and check-in with ourselves when we're feeling spastic. Ask yourself, what's this all about? Where's is it coming from? Before you allow it to cloud your mindset and block you from bringing in the good, get clear on the origin of your stress. Once you have this clarity, you can properly attribute the stressful feelings and do what you need to to shake them and re-focus.

It turns out, my little pause (sans wifi) in the coffee shop was exactly what I needed: a moment to recognize that my pesky brain was the only thing stopping me from accomplishing what I needed at the time. And the fact is, our minds are always the thing stopping us from reaching our true capacity in our businesses and in our personal lives.

Give out gratitude and positive feelings, and await the surprises that lie ahead...you will surely get them back ten-fold!
