I'm popping in with a quick story for your Monday...

I was out of the office last week at my first live event in the last 3 years and it was ahhhhmazing. 

I was recognized for an award my team and I achieved in 2019 and spent a bunch of quality time with incredible people. 

During one of the segments of the event, there was a man named Stuey being recognized for an award he and his team had achieved. 

Stuey happens to be someone I've followed on Instagram for some time even though he didn't know me personally just yet.

When he got called up to the stage, he started talking about his dad's passing earlier this year and the stories that lead him to this moment of achievement, there wasn't a dry eye in the room.  

I found myself crying in my seat in a way that extended beyond just what he was sharing on stage and when I stopped to ask myself why, I realized that it was because Stuey had already shared so much of his story on his very own virtual stage.  

There was a connection that filled in the gaps and brought his story to life in a deeper way. 

His vulnerability and willingness to allow himself be seen and known created a connection that amplified the one I had when meeting him in person and listening to him on stage at the event.

So why am I telling you this?

Because this is how connection works.

It’s why you love who you love on whatever platforms you enjoy using. 

It’s why you cry when the person accepting the award gets emotional on stage.

Connection happens through vulnerability.

Vulnerability happens when we enter our Truth without the guardrails & scripts to keep us safe.
