This one's for your heart today...

Today's looking and feeling a lot different than I had anticipated it would.

Instead of holding a growing, pregnant belly, I am appreciating this resilient body and her ability to heal.

Instead of dreaming about a nursery and googling baby names, we are planning a cross-country road trip for the fall and getting excited about new possibilities.

There is no doubt that I am grieving in real time and accepting what is, while simultaneously celebrating the opportunity to dream in new directions.

Mother's Day is a complicated holiday and I want to hold the space for wherever you are on your journey with it.

I also want to affirm your tender heart and thank you for the ways you "mother" in your world.

It's impossible to wake up on this day and not think of all of those who are feeling the pang of pain today wishing things could be different.

So I am here today to just love you, be in this space with you and encourage you to revel in the simplest of joys.

Some of the ways I am doing this today are by sharing a poem I wrote for my own mother here with you from the pages of Paddle Home.

I also want to take a moment to celebrate and share my dear friend Rachel Camfield's brand new podcast called The Mother's Embrace. Rach has a way of opening her heart and the hearts of all of us through her gift of storytelling. In these early episodes, she is sharing her birth stories and the journeys of others.

This podcast feels like a safe haven to feel seen, loved and known. I hope you enjoy it and add it to your list of monthly listens. Click here to check it out.

Wishing you the most beautiful day and week ahead.

Hearts like yours are what make the world go round.

All my love.
